Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) - The Indian tradition !!
In Hindu families, there is a tradition of buying gold and silver on four auspicious days. These are known as SADE TEEN MUHURTA, and are as follows :
As per Hindu electional astrology (Muhurta) three Lunar days (Tithis) are auspicious. These are called Sade-Teen Muhurtas also. These Tithis are : 1st Tithi of Bright Half of Chaitra (starting of new year), 10th Tithi of Bright Half of Ashvina (Vijay Dashmi), 3rd Tithi of Bright Half of Vaishakha (Akshay Tritiya- Parshu Jyanti) & 1st Tithi of Bright Half of Karttika are called “Sade-Teen (3 ½) Muhurt”. The first three Tithis are counted as full & the last one as half Tithi, and constitute Sade - Teen Muhurt. Sun and Moon are astrologically believed to be at their most exalted equal brightness on this day.
Most of Indian families buy gold on these auspicious day, every year. This practice is the age old systematic investment plan as taught by the old and wise people. Since we keep buying gold, the savings keeps on increasing. The value of gold always increases, and hence the stability of a family too with it. Hence whenever there is a financial crisis or a marriage, the year on year piled up gold comes to rescue.
If any saving plan is told to the youngsters of today, they mostly ignore it and spend it all. By associating the concept with the religeon, and auspicious days, people trust and believe and hence start saving money. This is the wisdom of the Indians, and illustrated and crafted so that the most layman can follow the best practices.
